V's First Weekend Getaway and She's 20 Weeks!

Ready for a Road Trip!
This weekend we took a little trip to Denver! We went to visit our dear friends Jess and Brent, and as an extra bonus the trip also allowed for some family quality time with Omi and Grandpa as well!!!

Being Silly Before We Left, and Working on Sitting Up.
We set out on the trip Thursday afternoon prepared for a lot of stops with a big bag of toys to keep our little one occupied. This being her first road trip can I say we were a little worried having no idea what we were in for. Needless to say, Vera is an angel. She slept until we got to Raton and then we played for about an hour after our dinner stop and she slept the rest of the way to Denver.

Waking Up with Dad.

Once we arrived, we crashed at J and Brent's to rest up for a day of shopping on Friday. V loved the mall and enjoyed smiling at everyone, even if they didn't notice her she smiles at everyone. The one photo I took from the day may be documenting the only time she wasn't smiling :)

How Many Hours Have We Been Here?

You Guys Can't be the Only Ones Having Lunch!
The next day Vera went to her first museum!!! We saw the modern art exhibit where we all enjoyed some pretty amazing pieces of art (V while straped on to Dad in the Bjorn). On top of the great art...our travel to the museum was an adventurous one. We were on the opposit side of downtown, so we walked to the bus station and rode the bus to the stop by the museum. It would have been pretty low key but we got on the bus right as the St Paddy's Day Parade was ending. Exciting! Thankfully, J met us there, so V and I were able to ride home with her.

After a day at the museum we went for a wonderful dinner at The Plimoth. So delish!!!! It's a block and a half from J and Brent's and was delish...did I say that already? We had wonderful wine, got to chat with friends and enjoy a really fantastic dinner.

The Source

Before heading home we had bunch at a wonderful place called The Source in Rino, it's an 1880 foundry building that was convered into a wonderful space to be occupied by unique small storefronts. The resturant was awesome and the building's design was so unique. Peter and I geeked out for sure. Each of the storefronts had a specialty good which they sold. There was a butcher, a baker, and bourbon maker. We were there in the morning for brunch so we weren't able to  try the distillery, but check our the beautiful loaf of bread from the baker...

Our trip wrapped up with a quick trip to Ikea to get a bookshelf for V's room. We hope to build it this weekend...we shall see. It was a great trip and one we will have to repeat soon!

<3 Always,

The Sieberts
